The Woodman Inn, ThunderbridgeWelcome to the Woodman Inn.

We are set in the heart of Thunderbridge, a small hamlet just south of Huddersfield, and offer a friendly and personal service. Dating from the 19th century, the Inn is built from local Yorkshire stone and is surrounded by 9 acres of mature deciduous woodland.

The Woodman Inn boasts the exceptionally good walking country of the southern Pennines nearby, as well as a fascinating choice of attractions a few minutes drive away. These include Holmfirth, Bronte Country, the Royal Armouries, The National Mining Museum , The Yorkshire Sculpture Park, Chatsworth House, Nostell Priory, and Harewood House.

We bought the Inn in 1996, and in the following year, bought the 3 adjoining weaver’s cottages. These were added to the Inn to provide 12 bedrooms, each of which is fully equipped with en-suite facilities, telephone, TV, trouser press and a hospitality tray to create a truly inviting and comfortable Country Inn. In 2003, we have just completed a total refurbishment of the 2 Bars and Restaurant to create a very stylish, but still traditional venue. We are family owned, and offer a warm welcome supported by personal friendly service. A fine dining experience is available in either our restaurant or in one of our 2 ground floor bars.
